How Shining Star Bridal came to be…

I started in bridal straight from high school in 1994. I was hungry to learn about all things “fashion”.

I worked at a dry cleaner to learn about fiber contents and care. I worked in a fabric shop to learn about cutting and grain lines and interfacings. And I worked in a bridal shop to learn how these things all worked together in practical applications.

For college, I moved to Chicago and went to design school. While there, I worked at Marshall Fields Bridal. When I could sneak away from my sales duties, I was apprenticing the seamstress. I was learning how all of my previous studies around fashion FIT.

LITERALLY.

And a love of making YOUR dress custom fit was born.
